Socio Medical Camp at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

WNC, Indore organized a socio-medical camp with the soul intention to support the ground staff of our forest department. These people work tirelessly day and night to help conserve whatever is left. It’s an effort to provide them basic health facilities and to keep account of their well being just the way they do for our beloved jungles. A total of 350 staff, family members and local villagers received various benefits during this camp at BTR on 27 July 2024. The occasion was special as it helped us observe the International Tiger Day (on 29 July) with those who are crucial spoke in the tiger conservation wheel.
With the camp at BTR we attempted to provide them with warm clothes, stationary for their child’s education and toothpaste with brush to inculcate the habit of brushing for good oral hygiene.
For the medical part we were able to cover the general health check up, blood sugar ,BP test , malaria and typhoid rapid tests, sickle cell anaemia test, CBC, HBA1c as per the need. These facilities were provided via the district health department Umaria.
At the camp we also screened them for Oral cancer by visual inspection and with the help of Oncodiagnoscope an indigenous devious developed by RRCAT, Indore. Staff or their family members with the precancerous lesion and conditions were listed and same was informed to the department for further follow up.
The occasion was also graced by Commissioner Shahdol Shri B S Jamod, Collector Umaria Shri Dharnendra Kumar Jain , FD BTR Shri LL Uikey.
